Harvest underway

Harvest is well underway for crop producers in the area, with progress estimated at average for this time of year. The United States Department of Agriculture projects Nebraska farmers will harvest 9.7 million corn acres and 5.25 million soybean acres this year. By the end of next week, 43 percent of soybean crops are expected to be harvested compared to 23 percent of corn.
