COLERIDGE — Marvin E. Domina, 97, Coleridge, died Aug. 28, 2024, at Park View Haven Nursing Home, Coleridge.

Funeral services were Aug. 31 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with the Rev. Marilyn Hasemann officiating.

Burial was at Lawn Ridge Cemetery, rural Coleridge.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Scot Domina, Thurston Domina, Erik Didriksen, Steven Thiele, Ian Didriksen and Brian Jorde.

Honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters, Sonia Domina, Lisa Hopkins, Salesia Domina, Jill Domina, Jessica Schmit, Jenna Kaup and Katelyn Mueller.

Visitation and a prayer service were Friday at church, and continued one hour prior to services.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge.

Marvin Everett was born Oct. 10, 1926, on a farm southwest of Hartington, to Lloyd and Eda (Strivens) Domina. Marvin graduated from Hartington High School in 1943. He was baptized and confirmed July 23, 1950. Marvin married Jackie Mae Hansen Feb. 19, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Marvin farmed and was the manager of the Coleridge Dehy Plant for many years. He retired from the Dehy Plant when it closed some 25 years ago. When the tornado hit Coleridge, the structure was damaged and removed.

Marvin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its board, the Village of Coleridge Board, Coleridge Community School Board of Education, Northeast NE Telephone Board for 37 years, Coleridge Rural Fire Board, former Boy Scout Leader, and a member of the Alfalfa Dehydration Association.

Marvin enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, traveling and dancing. Marvin always enjoyed his children and grandchildren’s activities over the years, but family was a top priority. His children say that Marvin was the perfect “grandpa.” Marvin was loyal to his wife, family, work and his community.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Jackie, Coleridge; five children and spouses, Dave (Carol) Domina, Omaha; Roger (Kandy) Domina, Newburgh, Ind.; Larry (Marlene) Domina, Coleridge; Karen Connelly, St. Louis, Mo.; Carol (Joe) Thiele, Clearwater; 13 grandchildren, Thurston, Salesia, Brian, Sonia, Scot, Lisa, Jill, Jessica, Erik, Ian, Steven, Jenna and Kate; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Alan (Karen) Domina, Lincoln; sister, Janet Olson, Laurel; and sister-inlaw, Bette Domina, Saginaw, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Eda Domina; grandson, Curtis Domina, Nov. 24, 1999; brothers Don, Dean and Elmer Domina; and sisters, Ilene and Annabelle.
