Keith L. Erickson
WAYNE — Keith L. Erickson, 90, Wayne, died Dec. 30, 2018, at Careage Campus of Care, Wayne.
Visitation was Jan. 6 at Hasemann Funeral Home, Wayne.
Funeral services were Jan. 7 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Concord, with Rev. Christine Hjelmstad officiating.
Burial was in the Concord Cemetery, Concord.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hasemann Funeral Home, Wayne.
Keith L. Erickson was born Aug. 8, 1928, to Raymond and Ethel (Anderson) Erickson in Sioux City, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church, Concord. He attended country school and graduated from Concord High in 1946. He married Fern Piwenitzky March 25, 1951, at Grace Lutheran Church, Wayne. Keith was drafted into the army in June 1951, and served his country in the Korean War through 1953. After returning home he began farming and worked various jobs along the way.
Keith was fortunate enough to have gone on the Korean War Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., in 2013. He was a member of American Legion #54, Laurel, and a life member of VFW #5291, Wayne.
Keith was blessed with five children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with family, polka music, dancing, wood working and playing cards.
Keith was a faithful member of Concordia Lutheran Church and served on the church board. He also served on the Laurel-Concord school board.
Survivors include wife, Fern Erickson; children, Denise (Tom) Tiedgen, Lincoln; Vicki (Mark) Carlson, Omaha; Pastor Michael (Jerri) Erickson, Pampa, Texas; and Scott (Brenda) Erickson, Seward; grandchildren, Erika (Brian) Wilson, Ryan (Jessie) Tiedgen, Ashley (Shea) McClanahan, Emily (Steve) Muhlbauer, Sydney Erickson, Garrett Erickson, Seth Erickson and Matthew Erickson; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Ethel; twin brother, Kenneth, in 1968; and infant daughter, Kay, in 1960.
