Juniors start new year off with a win over Valentine

HARTINGTON — The Hartington American Legion Juniors started the new season with a win.

Lead-off batter Brett Kleinschmidt led the local team at the plate with a 2-3 effort and two runs.

Carson Arens and Jude Krei also picked up hits for Hartington in the game.

Lukas Wortmann earned the win on the mound, giving up five hits, but also striking out five batters. He was relieved by Carson Arens and Weston Heine, who both gave up a hit during their time on the mound.

The Juniors are in action again Wednesday when they travel to Crofton.
