HNS girls earn big win at S.D. Tournament
MADISON, S.D. — The Lady Wildcats traveled north across the Missouri River on Saturday to take part in the Trojan Classic at Dakota State University.
Hartington-Newcastle earned a 48-43 win over Canistota, SD in the showcase that featured some unique rules that HNS head coach Corey Uldrich said the team had to adjust to.
“Playing two 18-minute halves and with a 35 second shot clock were some unique twists that our girls have never experienced,” said Uldrich. “I thought we got a lot out of our rotations playing a longer game, and we never struggled to get a shot off in time.”
In Nebraska, high school teams play four 8-minute quarters and there is no shot clock.
