HARTINGTON — Kobe Heitman, a senior at HNS has been selected to play in multiple All-Star games in the summer of 2021.
Heitman was chosen to play in the Nebraska Eight-Man Coaches Association SertomaAll-Star Game and Northeast Nebraska All-Star Football Classic.
The Sertoma Eight-Man All-Star Game is held annually in Hastings. Twenty-four players from the West and 24 players from the East are selected from the schools playing eight-man football.
Players attend the event from Monday through Saturday in June. During their time at the event, players practice twice a day and take part in activities throughout the Hastings area. The game is played at Hastings College, and all proceeds from the event go to the Sertoma Club.
Heitman will have the opportunity to showcase his abilities one more time before moving on to the next level.
“I’ve worked hard to get to this point in my career, and it’s a great honor to be selected by coaches from other schools who recognize my abilities,” Heitman said.
The Northeast Nebraska AllStar Football Classic will be played June 12 in Norfolk. The team is selected from graduating seniors in the Norfolk region by the coaches of the Classic.
His coach isn’t surprised to see Heitman getting so many accolades.
“Kobe is one of the most coachable players I have ever been around. He has a lot of natural ability and talent that suits playing football,” HNS football coach Corey Uldrich said.
Heitman is undecided on where he wants to go to college but hopes to continue playing football in the future.
