Eleanor Feilmeier
HARTINGTON — Eleanor Feilmeier, 80, Hartington, died April 7, 2018, at the Hartington Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation was April 8 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, and continued Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington.
Pallbearers were Ben Feilmeier, Ryan Feilmeier, Matt Feilmeier, Dean Heine, Chad Tramp and Eric Heine.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Eleanor Mary Feilmeier was born March 7, 1938, to Henry and Mary (Burbach) Heine in Crofton. Eleanor grew up on the farm north of Bow Valley. She attended elementary school there and graduated from Holy Trinity High School, Hartington, in 1955. Eleanor married Jerome F. Feilmeier Nov. 28, 1959, in Bow Valley. She worked for the ASCS office prior to raising her three children, Margie, Tom and Jerry. Once her children were in school, Eleanor worked as the office manager for the Hartington Telephone Company for the next 30 years, retiring in 2003.
Eleanor was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and had an hour of Perpetual Adoration for many years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Eleanor loved to make quilts and playing golf. She loved spending time with kids, grandchildren, and great grandson.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Jerome, Hartington; three children and spouses, Margie and Jim Ehlers, Omaha; Tom and Pam Feilmeier, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Jerry and Jill Feilmeier, Omaha; five grandchildren, Ben (Jess) Feilmeier, Ryan Feilmeier, Matt Feilmeier, Jenna Feilmeier, and Sophia Feilmeier; great-grandson, Elijah Feilmeier; sister Berneice Tramp, Yankton, S.D.; brother, Jim (Deb) Heine, Sioux Falls, S.D.; sisters-in-law, Ruth Heine, Bow Valley, and Judy Heine, Yankton, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Heine; two brothers, Richard and Dennis Heine; and infant sister, Irma Jean Heine.
