COVID is already having an affect on HS sports season
HARTINGTON — High school sports season is just now underway, but the COVID-19 pandemic is already having a big affect on the season.
At least two area contests were either postponed or cancelled this week because of the pandemic.
Crofton and Hartington-Newcastle were scheduled to play volleyball Thursday night in Hartington. That contest was postponed, however. The Crofton-Valentine football game has also been postponed.
Osmond was slated to take on the Allen Eagles Friday night in an eight-man football match-up. That game was cancelled, though. A notice on the Osmond Community School Facebook page said the game was cancelled by the Public Health Dept..
The Hartington-Newcastle volleyball team is slated to play in Dodge on Saturday. That contest is still scheduled to take place. The Wildcat football team is scheduled to travel to Randolph Friday night. That game is also still on.
