Daniel A. Kaiser
CROFTON — Daniel A. Kaiser, 88, Crofton, died March 18, 2018, surrounded by his family at the Good Samaritan Center, Bloomfield. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, one hour prior to services. Mass of Christian Burial will be March 22, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, with the Rev. Timothy Podraza officiating. Cremation will occur after the Funeral Mass and his cremains will be buried at a later date at St. Boniface Cemetery, Menominee. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Jason Strom, Jeff Arens, Michael Arens, Jill Carnell, Sarah Ramos, Ashley Kaiser and Tiffeny Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Goeden, Lawrence Zavadil, Duane Goeden, Francis Mueller, Darold Loecker and his baseball colleagues. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Crofton. Daniel A. Kaiser was born July 6, 1929, in Crofton, to Frank and Marie (Tramp) Kaiser. He married Shirley Paulsen Aug. 25, 1953, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton. They lived in Crofton where Danny farmed, milked cows and raised hogs. Daniel and Shirley moved to Bloomfield in 1965 and he continued to farm and raise his family. They had five children, Debbie, Diane, Duane, Dennis and Dean. Dan retired in 1988 and moved back to Crofton. He was a Knox County Supervisor for eight years and worked at Bomgaar’s for two years. Dan was an active member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Bloomfield, where he was on the board to help build the new church. He was then active in St. Rose of Lima parish. Dan’s favorite past times included hunting, fishing, and playing 30-point pitch. He played baseball for 29 years and coached the Crofton Crows. Dan even got to play with Bob Gibson one summer. Daniel is survived by his wife, Shirley Kaiser, Crofton; five children and spouses, Debbie (Myrle) Gilsdorf, Bloomfield; Diane (Clair) Arens, Crofton; Duane Kaiser, Crofton; Dennis Kaiser, Crofton; Dean (Carrie) Kaiser, Fruitland, Idaho; eight grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Strom, Jill and Garett Carnell, Jennifer and Todd Hoebelheinrich, Jeff and Kelsey Arens, Michael and Jessica Arens, Sarah and Victor Ramos, Ashley Kaiser and friend Scott, Tiffany and Cody Fletcher; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Darold (Sheila) Kaiser, Cinncinati, Ohio; sister, Dorothy Wiebelhaus, Omaha; brother, Carrol (Corinne) Kaiser, Mauston, Wis.; brother, Ronnie (Mary) Kaiser, Elroy, Wis.; and brother-inlaw, Duane (Karen) Loecker, Crofton. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie; sisters, Lou Ellis and Shirley Loecker; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Ellis and Dennis Wiebelhaus.
