Dignitaries turn out for Gov. Thone's memorial service

LINCOLN — The ballroom at the Cornhusker Hotel here was filled with friends, family and dignitaries from acrss the state Tuesday as people came out to say their final farewells to Gov. Charles Thone.
Thone, a Bow Valley native, died last week in his Lincoln home. He was 94.
The 75-minute event featured brief talks by dignitaries, friends and co-workers.
State Treasurer Don Stenberg, one of Thone's former aides, was one of many speakers at the event.
