Cross country Bears run in Beemer

BEEMER - The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bear and Lady Bear cross country team ran in the Wisner-Pilger Cross Country Invitational here at Indian Trails Golf Club Sept. 5 with the Bears winding up fifth in the team standings and the Lady Bears coming in sixth as a unit.

The Homer boys and girls won their respective divisions with the Knights outrunning the Hartington- Newcastle 32-67 and the Lady Knights outdistancing West Point-Beemer 58-62.

Dawson Meyer of Oakland-Craig won the boys race with Jaiden Anderson of Archangels Catholic second and Gannon Pfister of Ponca third.

Kyla Krusemark of Pender was the girls champion with Lilly Harris of Homer the runner up, Ava Brennan of Ponca was third.

Preston Rose finished just out of the medals in the large field of runners placing 17th with teammates Carter Korth and Shane Langford just seven and eight spots back respectively in 24th and 25th. LCC’s John McDermott placed 64th.

LCC’s Faith Galvin finished in the medals, coming in 14th.

Kate Tasler and Addy Hoeppner finished together in 22nd and 23rd, Lead Gould and Abbie Brummels were in 32nd and 33rd respectivelyAva Christiansen was 58th.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is set to host its own invitational on Sept. 12 and will run in Wayne Sept. 16.
