Christensen will guide Building Blocks facility

LAUREL — Amanda Christensen has been named as the Director of the new Building Blocks Early Childhood & Family Development Center.

She was appointed by the Building Blocks Board of Directors.

Christensen brings a wealth of experience and passion for early childhood education and family development, which will further strengthen the Center’s commitment to providing care and education to the children and families it will serve.

Christensen, who holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood from Wayne State College, said she is excited to bring her passion for child development and family support to the Building Blocks Center.

“I am very excited for this new journey as the Director of Building Blocks. I look forward to utilizing my knowledge to support and develop our growing staff into great educators,” said Christensen, who resides in Hartington with her husband, Brandon, and their two daughters.

With over 12 years of experience in the field, Christensen has a proven track record of leadership and dedication to fostering a nurturing, safe and educational environment for young learners.

In this role, she will oversee all aspects of the Center’s operations, curriculum, community outreach initiatives and Laurel Concord Coleridge School’s (LCC) before/after school program.

Jeremy Christiansen, Superintendent of LCC School, agreed. “Bringing Amanda on board as the Center Director for Building Blocks marks an exciting step forward in our commitment to the well-being of our students and families,” he said. “Amanda’s expertise will be instrumental in delivering exceptional before and after school care, along with vital services like transportation and nutritious meals for the Center.
