HNPS Band earns honors
After submitting their Hartington-Newcastle Public School performance from the Capitol and final spring concert, the fifth and sixth grade band was selected to perform at the Nebraska Music Educators Association in Lincoln Nov.21, in the Graduate Hotel, 4-5 p.m. This is the third time in five years the HNPS band has been asked to perform at a state music event. Previously performing in the Capitol in 2021 and 2024. The current sixth and seventh grade band will now represent Nebraska at the NMEA All-State Convention. This event is where 1,099 teachers, exhibitors, collegiate students will be present and 746 NMEA All-State Band, Choir, Jazz Band, and Orchestra musicians will be rehearsing to perform their final concerts in the Lied Center Nov. 22. Other students in attendance will be the 633 Tri-M Students, Elementary and Middle Level Students. This is the largest music event in the state. It holds the highest honor to represent the State of Nebraska at the NMEA convention as groups or musicians are competiting with all classes from your large A schools to your smaller class D schools.
