Ronald F. Mattes

OMAHA — Ronald F. Mattes, 85, Omaha, died Jan. 13, 2024, at Pathfinder Senior Living, Fremont. The visitation for Ronald was Jan. 22 at the Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home, Wakefield.

The funeral service was Jan. 22 at the Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home.

Burial was in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, near Concord.

Ronald was born April 16, 1938, on the Bose Family farm near Concord, the son of Raymond and Helen (Bose) Mattes. He graduated from Concord High School. For most of his life, he worked as a truck driver. He was married to Mabel “Mert” Peterson. The couple made their home in Omaha, until her death in 2021.

Ronald enjoyed restoring tractors and working on vehicles.

He is survived by his son, Ronald R. (Cindy) Mattes, Hooper; daughters, Teresa (Ron) Dunaway, Hooper, and Sharon (Dale) Tharp, Fremont; step daughter, Ruby (Louis) Venditte, Omaha; 12 grandchildren; and 20 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Mattes; wife, Mabel Mattes; daughter, Merri Karr; and a granddaughter, Emily Rose Tharp.
