Seniors lose close one vs. Creighton-Plainview
RANDOLPH- Pitching and hitting were both on point for Randolph’s Senior Legion team in a close game against Creighton-Plainview at home last week.
The Randolph team fell short, 8-6. The game started close as it was 3-1 going into the bottom of the third, but that’s when the bats came alive for Randolph. Randolph rattled off five runs to take a 6-3 lead.
But this would be the last of the scoring for Randolph. Creighton-Plainview slowly came back with two runs in the fifth inning and the final three runs in the seventh to win the game.
Pitching was great for Randolph in the early half of the game when Carter Korth pitched 5.2 innings with nine strikeouts. Hitting for Randolph was highlighted by Collyn Beal’s 2-3 display with a double and an RBI.
Randolph didn’t have long to wait for a rematch playing Friday in Creighton. Look for that game recap in next week’s Randolph Times.
