LAUREL — Andy and Nicole Dennis recently moved to the Laurel community, and along with all of the family’s belongings, they also brought their businesses with them.

The Dennis family moved from Ord Dec. 22, but already consider Laurel home.

Nicole grew up in Laurel and graduated from Laurel-Concord High School in 2007, and her parents, Deb and Kevin Wacker, and Ryan and Theresa Lubberstedt, live here along with extended family - grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

“We wanted to raise our family in a wonderful, progressive community like Laurel surrounded by a lot of family,” Nicole said.

Nicole and Andy are parents to Finn, 4, and Emmary, 1.

She only moved a few weeks ago, but Nicole wasted no time in re-establishing her business, Nicole Dennis Fitness and Training, in Laurel, even if that means she’s working at an alternate location for awhile - the city auditorium - until she can find suitable studio space.

The business offers group fitness classes as well as one-on-one personal training for men and women at all fitness levels and ages.

“I have worked with teenagers, University partn of Nebraska athletes, all the way through 80-year-old clients,” she said. “I take a lot of pride in a non-judgment, fun, welcoming atmosphere for every body at every age and at every fitness level to join,” she said. “I WHAT WE truly care about every one of my clients and I want to see them succeed, both inside and outside of class.”

Nicole graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and exercise science, and has been in the health and wellness business for a decade. She is also a certified prenatal and postpartum fitness instructor.

Andy will also be reestablishing his business in a new place although no opening date has been set as of yet.

Andy’s Electric provides electrical services throughout the area, from residential new construction and remodeling, to service, commercial and even some agriculture facilities.

Andy has a well-rounded background in his field with some of his more extensive projects including wiring a new school and converting a gravel pit operation to all electric.

He said he’s excited to learn and grow as an electrician, as he serves the Laurel area and surrounding communities
