Klug is latest five golfers to get an ace on nine

HARTINGTON — It happened again Friday.

For the fifth time this season, a Hartington golfer fired a hole-in-one off of the ninth tee boxes at the Hartington Golf Course.

Lyle Klug put his name in the course record books with a hole in one Friday.

Klug joins his son, Brett Klug, Mike Johnson, Ken Kneifl and Riley Kuehn on the list of golfers who have aced the hole so far in 2021.

Coincidentally, Hartington-Newcastle Supt. AJ Johnson was a witness to three of those aces.

While he wasn’t an official witness to Klug’s shot, he was on hand for the momentous occasion.

He was sitting on the patio at the clubhouse watching Klug and golfing partners tee off from afar.
