U.S. Army Band will perform at Felber Park
HARTINGTON — June 15 is shaping up to be a big day in Hartington.
The Nebraska National Guard's 43rd Army Band will make a stop in Hartington for its 2021 summer tour.
The free performance will begin at 6:30 p.m., at Felber Park.
The performance will be held as part of a special Community Appreciation Day put together by the Hartington Chamber of Commerce.
Hartington Chamber of Commerce President Karen Flamig said the event will give area residents a chance to get together for the first time in a long time. It will also be an opportunity for the Chamber and local businesses to show their appreciation for folks here that supported local business during the pandemic.
The Chamber will serve free hot dogs, chips, cookies and lemonade beginning at 5:30 p.m.
A Patriotic Bike Parade for the kids will take place on the loop around the pool before the concert begins.
"We hope to provide a fun family event," Flamig said. "An ice cream truck will be at the park, too."
The 43rd U.S. Army Band is comprised of 37 members. They perform patriotic selections, marches and popular music. They also have several small groups.
