Wynot staff, students are celebrating Homecoming

WYNOT — It’s Homecoming Week in Wynot with several events planned for the week.

Each day has a theme starting with Monday and “Toy Story” (Western); Tuesday featured the theme of “Alice in Wonderland” (Twin Day); Wednesday was “Sleeping Beauty” (Pajamas); followed by Thursday and “Moana” (Beach Day). Friday is the traditional Spirit Day, wear everyone is encouraged to don their Blue Devil gear and cheer on the football team.

Tuesday, a pep rally for the volleyball team got students ready for the Homecoming Olympic games, followed at 5:30 p.m., with volleyball C-team, then the JV team, finishing with the Varsity team taking on Lyons-Decatur.

Friday’s festivities begin at 12:15 p.m., when the parade begins to march uptown, with the Pep Rally from 12:30-1 p.m., in front of Cedar Security Bank.

The football team will be dismissed at 1 p.m., for the game, while the students and staff receive treats from the Booster Club before the 1:30 dismissal.

The traditional Homecoming football game against Lyons-Decatur begins at 3 p.m.

The week’s activities will culminate with Coronation at 6 p.m., in the school gym, with the dance following at 7:30 p.m.
