Wynot defense stifles Creighton girls
WYNOT - The Creighton Lady Bulldogs ran into a defensive buzz saw in their first-round matchup of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament Saturday night.
Wynot completely shut down the Lady Bulldogs in this game, holding them to single baskets each in the first two quarters and to no points in the fourth quarter as the Lady Devils rolled to a 49-15 win.
Wynot advanced to play Wakefield Tuesday night in the next round.
Wynot was once again led by Karley Heimes with 17 points and seven rebounds. Kendra Pinkelman just missed double figures with nine points and Krystal Sudbeck and Chloe Heimes both hit 3-pointers in what was a balanced attack.
Creighton was led by Bryna Fanta with six points and Brooke Dance with three.

The second quarter was more of the same but this time it was a 17-2 run led by a 3-pointer by Chloe Heimes and four more points each by Karley Heimes and Kendra Pinkelman. Amy Tramp also hit a basket in close plus one to fuel the run.
In the third quarter the Creighton Lady Bulldogs showed some signs of life. Bryna Fanta hit a pair of baskets, Brooke Dance added a bucket plus one and Mayce Zimmerer and Makayla Mitchell also connected from the field.

Reserves mopped up in the fourth quarter as Coach Wieseler emptied his bench. Krystal Sudbeck drove for a lay-in and the team went 5-7 from the charity stripe while the defense held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless in the period to earn the 49-15 win.
