Wildcats, Trojans compete in golf triangular
HARTINGTON — The Hartington-Newcastle and Cedar Catholic boys’ golf teams played a nine-hole triangular along with Ponca on April 6, with the Indians taking the event by firing a 170 at Hartington Golf Club.
The Trojans were next with a 179, while the Wildcats were third with a 201.
Ponca took the top two spots on the day as Miguel Balvantin and Myles Fethkenher each covered the nine holes in 40 shots.
Wildcats Dayton Sudbeck and Riley Sudbeck were right behind at 41 and 43, respectively.
Ponca took the fifth spot, but the next five finishers were from Cedar Catholic.
Harrison Kuehn was sixth after a three-way scorecard tie-breaker with a 43, Memphis Ulrich was seventh at 44, Mav Heine was eighth with a 47, tied with Sam Kuehn and Bodie Hochstein, who ended up 10th and ninth, respectively.
Cedar Catholic will tee it up in the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invitational on April 11 before heading to Pierce on April 16.
Hartington-Newcastle is also set to play in Laurel on April 11 and will travel to the O’Neill Invitational on April 18.
