Weather pushes Prom into May
HARTINGTON — This weekend’s winter storm forecast has forced Hartington-Newcastle school administrators to make a tough decision. Spring Prom has been moved from this Saturday to Friday May 11. Officials from several area schools have faced the same dilemma as up to eight inches of snow is forecast for this area Friday and Saturday.
Wausa, Allen, and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge also had their Spring Prom scheduled for this Saturday.
On Wednasday, LCC School officials announced the weather would interfere with the Prom, but no decision as to when to hold the event had been made yet.
"We will be meeting Friday morning to decide on having prom this weekend," Supt. Randy Klooz said. "If we are unable to have prom this weekend, we are looking to reschedule for the following Saturday, April 21."
