HARTINGTON — Peter Reifenrath, Brooky Bottom, is improving his place by building a new residence and barn. Porter and Konegni, Wynot, are doing the work.

HARTINGTON — Albert Jones has sold his Crystal Theatre to W. A Marx, Sac City, Iowa. He will take possession soon. Mr. and Mrs. Jones will move to Wayne.

HARTINGTON — Mr. and Mrs. Matt Becker were honored by 50 friends and neighbors on their eighth wedding anniversary.

HARTINGTON — Rose Hess, Bow Valley, was the first prize winner in a contest sponsored by The News.
She received an automobile. Second place winner Theresa Mackenbrock received a diamond ring. Third place winner Leo Schrempp won a gold watch.

HARTINGTON — A handsome new building will be erected by the Hartington National Bank at the northwest corner of Broadway and Main streets.
May 24, 1928
HARTINGTON — The 14 Civil War veterans of Cedar County were guests of honor at the Memorial Day event.
They are James Winterringer, Robert Sterling, W. H. Stephenson, J. J.
Cave, Lewis Dennis, Col. D. B. Wilson, George Steinhoff, Harvey Mount, John McLain, Fred Weber, J. J. Moore, E.
W. Leicy, Herman Heiderman, and N.H. Dowling.
