There are plenty of familiar faces in this year’s D2 tourney
LINCOLN - This is getting to be a familiar routine for the state’s best basketball players.
Most of the biggest guns in this year’s Class D2 girls State Basketball Tournament have been here before.
For the third year in a row, the top of the list is led by All State standout Allison Weidner of Humphrey St. Francis.
She has 554 points this season, averaging 25.8 points per game. Incredibly, her season totals are down from last year. She had hit for 623 points prior to the start of last year’s state tournament.
Morgan Ramsey, of CWC, is also back. She competed in Class D1 last year. She is second in the class this year, compiling a whopping 484 points for the 20-2 1 season. She is followed by Maywood’s Jaycee Widener, who has been able to pump in 455 points on the season, so far.
Samantha Moore of Mullen is also back on the Top 10 list. She hit for 441 points last season, and 440 this year.
Wynot is represented by Karley Heimes, who hit for 318 points on the year to land in seventh place on the Class D2 Tourney Top 10 Scoring List.
Edyn Sudbeck and Autumn Lawson trail Heimes in Wynot’s scoring tabulations with 182 and 181 points, respectively.
