Sudbeck earns medalist honors
WAYNE — Delayne Sudbeck earned medalist honors at last week’s Wayne Invitational at the Wayne Country Club.
Sudbeck played a steady game all day long, firing 45s on both the front nine and back nine to top the field with her 90.
She was followed by Megan Lutt of Battle Creek in second with a 94.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge golfer Jadyn Kinkaid finished third with a 96.
The top five teams finished within 10 strokes of each other as West Point-Beemer won the invite with a 427.
Papillion La Vista and Battle Creek both shot a 429, Cedar Catholic finished fourth with a 430 and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge rounded out the top five teams with a 437.
Pierce finished sixth with a 451, Thurston-Cuming took seventh with a 496, Elkhorn Valley (eighth – 522) and Stanton (ninth – 611) closed out team scoring while Oakland-Craig, Wayne, Crofton and South Sioux City had individual golfers take part in the invite.
Other Cedar golfers at the event were: Jenna Wiebelhaus, 15th, 109; Bailey Wuebben, 113; Maci Schommer, 118.
