Sharon Lee Jacobsen
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Sharon Lee Jacobsen, 82, Council Bluffs, Iowa, died June 26, 2018, at the Midlands Living Center, Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Funeral Services were June 30 at the United Lutheran Church, Laurel, with Rev. Matthew Quanbeck officiating.
Burial was in the Laurel Cemetery.
Visitation was one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers were Shane Jacobsen, Wyatt Jacobsen, Shelby Jacobsen, Lance Jacobsen, Jim Kennelly and Domonick Kennelly.
The Wintz Funeral Home, Laurel, was in charge of arrangements.
Sharon was born April 29, 1936, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Earl and Theda (Batten) Reiff. She grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1954. After high school, Sharon worked several office jobs in Omaha. She married Harold Edward Jacobsen Nov. 16, 1963, in Council Bluffs. After their marriage, Sharon and Harold lived in Blair, where Sharon was a homemaker. Harold died Feb. 15, 1995, at the age of 65. After his death, Sharon lived in several assisted living centers in Omaha and McCook. She moved Nov. 15, 2012, to the Midlands Living Center, Council Bluffs.
Sharon was a former member of the First Lutheran Church, Blair. She enjoyed music and played classical piano. Sharon also sang in church choirs and sang for the Omaha Symphonic Chorus. She was a very religious woman.
Sharon is survived by her son, Eric Jacobsen, Pisgah, Iowa; two grandchildren, Gabrielle Marie Jacobsen and Caleb John Jacobsen; and a brother, Ron Reiff, Council Bluffs, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Jacobsen; and a sister-in-law, Joy Lee Reiff.
