Second-half surge carries Cedar to win over Pierce

PIERCE — Matthew Becker put an exclamation point on the Cedar Catholic win over Pierce Friday, grabbing a steal and throwing down a one-handed slam dunk on a fast break to cement the 50-38 win. It was Becker’s second dunk of the night. Both of Becker’s dunks sent Cedar fans to their feet as they reacted to Becker’s first dunks of the season.
The junior dunked against Boone Central, but it was called off because of a foul. Becker’s first dunk was last year against Howells-Dodge.
