Sandra K. Hale

SPEARFISH, S.D. — Memorial services for Sandra K. Hale will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Randolph, April 9, at 10 a.m.

Burial will be at a later date.

Sandra had battled cancer for three years before succumbing to it March 8, 2022, at Monument Health Hospital, Rapid City, S.D.

Sandra was born Feb. 21, 1957, to Walt and Alice Starkel in Norfolk. She grew up in Randolph and attended country school and graduated from Randolph High School in 1975. After high school, Sandra moved to Norfolk, working at Dale’s, Sherwoods, then in the meat department of Lynn and Al’s, Lynn and Sons and Lou’s Thriftyway until her health forced her to retire in 2012. Sandra married Roger Hale, Spearfish, S.D., June 24, 1981, and they were blessed with a son, David, who was born April 7, 1981.

She enjoyed traveling, listening to music and riding on their Harley.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, Spearfish, S.D.; sister, Judy Sullivan, Clarkson; sister, Ruth Dowling, Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother, Jim and Patty Starkel, Randolph; brother-in-law, Barry and Phyllis Hale, Jonesboro, Ark; sister-in-law, Mitzi and John Bredehoft, Battle Creek; and many nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Ellen Starkel; and her beloved son, David.
