Rosemary Ann Wuebben

BOW VALLEY — Rosemary Ann Wuebben, 82, Bow Valley, died June 20, 2018, at the Sanford Vermillion Care Center, Vermillion, S.D. Visitation and a Vigil service were Sunday at Holy Family (Sts. Peter and Paul) Catholic Church, Bow Valley, and continued Monday, one hour prior to services. Mass of Christian Burial was June 25 at Holy Family (Sts. Peter and Paul) Catholic Church, Bow Valley, with the Rev. Eric Olsen officiating. Burial was at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Bow Valley. Pallbearers were Rosemary’s grandsons, Jeremy Wuebben, Zach Wuebben, Michael Wuebben, Jason Hoebelheinrich, Tyler Koch, Justin Koch, Brad Bollich, Brett Bollich and Connor Wuebben. Honorary pallbearers were Rosemary’s granddaughters, Jennifer Petersen, Ashley Wuebben, Kim May, Sheri Koch, Jamie Jones, Mandy Kost, Heather Watterson, Megan Koch, Rachel Van Engen, Paige Wuebben and Bailey Wuebben, and Rosemary’s 11 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Rosemary Ann was born Oct. 29, 1935, on a farm near St. James, to Fritz S. and Rose H. (Imoehl) Pinkelman. She grew up in the St. James area and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1953. She continued to live in the St. James area until she married Eugene D. Wuebben Oct. 2, 1957, in St. James. After their marriage, they moved to rural Bow Valley, and then moved to St. Helena in 1995. Gene and Rosemary moved to Majestic Bluffs, Yankton, S.D., in 2011. Gene died Feb. 23, 2015, at the age of 81. Rosemary moved to the Sanford Vermillion Care Center two years ago in 2016. Rosemary was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Helena, and its Council of Catholic Women; Holy Family (Sts. Peter and Paul) Catholic Church, Bow Valley; and Christian Mothers. Rosemary loved to cook and bake, making loaves upon loaves of bread for her family. She liked to decorate Christmas cookies and even made popcorn and cookies for the kids that rode on Gene’s school bus route. She had a garden and canned much of her produce. Rosemary worked as a cook for the St. Helena school lunch program for several years. She loved to play the piano and also the accordion. Rosemary always extended her hospitality when anyone would stop by. She enjoyed her flowers and always admired her father’s ability to grow large roses. Rosemary is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Duane and Marsha Wuebben, Bow Valley; Mary Ann and Dale Hoebelheinrich, Yankton, S.D.; Rosanne and Daniel Koch, Wynot; Joan and Joe Reed, Vermillion, S.D.; Janice and Alan Koch, Wynot; Dennis and Julie Wuebben, Bow Valley; Donna and Bruce Bollich, Fordyce; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers and spouses, Edward F. and Jeanette Pinkelman, Wynot; Frederick and Carol Pinkelman, Hartington; Jerome and Charlotte Pinkelman, Wynot; and Stanley and Violet Pinkelman, Wynot; and sister, Celestine, and husband, James Dvorak, Scotland, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene, in 2015; two miscarried sons; and a brother, Edmund J. and wife, Lorraine Pinkelman.
