Pierce County Fair begins
PIERCE – Some of Randolph’s youth will be participating in this year’s 4-H events at the Pierce County Fair.
The Pierce County Fair is set for Wednesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 28 with classic 4-H events and rodeo entertainment - staples of the annual fair.
The opening day of the fair - Wednesday, July 24 - will be set aside for the entering and judging of all static 4-H exhibits from baking to rockets and everything in between. All open class entries and 4-H livestock should arrive at the fair and be entered.
The day ends with team roping starting at 5 p.m.
4-H livestock shows will begin on Day 2 Thursday, July 25 - starting with the beef show and followed by the companion animal show, cat show and dog show.
The Outlaw Truck & Tractor Pull is set for 7 p.m.
Swine, sheep, goat, horses and their 4-Hers will take to the show ring on Day 3 - Friday, July 26. The livestock judging contest is also set for Friday afternoon.
The annual fair awards including the Hall of Fame, Pioneer and Outstanding Individual awards will be given at 6 p.m. Friday with the 4-H Livestock Auction set for 6:30 p.m.
The demolition derby will be Friday evening’s featured entertainment with a start time of 7:30 p.m.
More 4-H shows continue on Saturday, July 27, with the 4-H rabbit, poultry and bucket calf shows. Open class shows will follow in swine, sheep, goat and beef categories.
A mud volleyball tournament and donkey polo games are planned for Saturday entertainment. Just like it sounds, in donkey polo players ride donkeys and use a stick to get a ball through a goal.
Pierce High School’s FFA chapter will also be hosting its Ribest.
The 4-H style revue and 4-H Awards Night are set for Saturday night along with the fair’s featured entertainment - Double S Extreme Bull Riding.
A 4-H inspirational service will kick off the final day of the fair on Sunday, July 28.
