Oma Arlene Jacobsen
HARTINGTON — Oma Arlene Jacobsen, 88, Hartington, died suddenly March 22, 2021, at her residence.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., June 1, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, with Pastor Amanda Talley officiating. Burial will be in the Hartington City
Burial will be in the Hartington City Cemetery.
The family requests masks be worn by everyone attending the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Oma Arlene was born June 18, 1932, in Coleridge, to Ole and Ruth (Starks) Andrews. She grew up in the Coleridge area and attended elementary school at Logan Valley, east of Coleridge. She worked at the Coleridge Café and Rohde Bar for many years. She married Adolph Pfund at the Lutheran Church in Hartington. Oma moved to the San Fernando Valley in California, where she was a foster parent for babies for many years. Oma lived in California from 1956-1973. She moved to Hartington in 1973 and began working at the Hartington Neu Cheese Plant.
Oma also spent her time decorating cakes for people for over 50 years. She married Don Jacobsen Sept. 11, 2004, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington
Oma is survived by her husband, Don, Hartington; four children, Debra (Chuck) Przelomiec, Oak Park, Calif.; Joan (Bruce) Brodersen, Lincoln; Robert (Corinne) Pfund, Billings, Mont.; Steve Vargas, Colorado; Debra’s children, Paul (Julianne) and infant, Hazel, Allison, Ryan; Joan’s children, Emily and John Kohtz, and their kids, Benjamin and William, Laura, Kevin; Robert’s children, Brittany, Miranda and Breanna.
Oma was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Ruth Andrews; four brothers, Lee Andrews, Clifford Andrews, Floyd Andrews and Dick Andrews; and two sisters, Stella Anderson and Unise Nelson.
