Marvin Dale Jensen
WAUSA — Marvin Dale Jensen Sr., Wausa, died Jan. 12, 2022, at his home in Wausa. He was 84 years old.
Marvin was born Aug. 16, 1937, in Winside, to James Rasmus Jensen and Anna Loretta Brackert. He enlisted in the Army September 1956. He served as a heavy equipment truck driver. He was a sharp shooter and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in January 1966. Marvin continued to drive trucks for Sweet Life Foods in Connecticut, for which he was awarded a Million Mile award. He drove semi-trucks for Holdman’s milk tankers and McDermontts in Vermont before retiring in 2007.
Marvin’s hobbies included tinkering with small engines, gardening, fishing, raising pigeons, rabbits, and chickens for 4-H with his children. He loved visiting with his family and friends.
Marvin and Phyllis Napolitan were married in 1963, and had three children, Eugene, Marvin Jr. of North Carolina, and Sylvia Forni of California.
After his wife’s passing, he remarried to Barbara Lynn Bell in 1987. They have two children, Jessica Jensen and Kurtis Dale Jensen of Vermont. Marvin was one of seven siblings. Marvin is survived by his second wife, Barbara Lynn Jensen; his children, Marvin Jensen Jr., Sylvia Forni, Jessica Jensen and Kurtis Dale Jensen; 10 grandchildren, Julia Jensen, Matthew Jensen, Jessica Forni, Jasmine Forni, Emma Forni, Alfredo Forni, Brayden Faust, April Blais, Lila Blais and Cora Blais; his brothers, Richard Jensen of Arkansas, Ervin of Nevada, and sister, Betty Anne Smith, Pierce; and by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, James Rasmus Jensen and Anna Loretta Brackert; his first wife, Phyllis Napolitan; his oldest son, Eugene Jensen; and siblings, James Jensen, Leonard Jensen and Ramon Jensen.
Marvin will be laid to rest at the Omaha Veteran National Cemetery, Omaha.
