Local John Deere dealership expanding
HARTINGTON — A new shop and building enclosure is ushering in new business and much excitement at a longtime Hartington business.
Grossenburg Implement in Hartington, a John Deere dealer in used and new equipment, maintenance and repair, is expanding at its Highway 57 location with a new 100-footby-180-foot shop.
The new shop will house larger equipment - tractors, sprayers and combines - as well as provide room for maintenance and repair.
“It’ll be a whole new, brand new store up here,” said Store Manager Doug Sudbeck, with a grand opening later this summer. “Lots of people are getting excited.”
Along with the new shop, areas of the current facility will get a new enclosure.
“We are actually going right over top of the current space,” Sudbeck said.
The business plans to add another five or six employees with the new addition, to add to its current roster of 22.
Gerry Miller had the original building constructed when the new Hartington Industrial Park was established in the mid 1970s. Prior to that, the dealership was located in downtown Hartington.
The Hartington location is one of eight in the Grossenburg’s portfolio, with its headquarters in Winner, S.D.
