Lawrence Leo “Larry” Wattier

LINCOLN — Lawrence Leo “Larry” Wattier, 68, Lincoln, died May 8, 2021, at his home in Lincoln, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., May 12, at Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph, with Rev. Fr. Timothy Forget and Deacon Doug Tunink officiating. Funeral services will also be live streamed at www.johnsonfuneralhomes.net.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Cemetery, Randolph.

Pallbearers will be Jim Schnoor, Jon Schnoor, Dave Baier, Jim Scott, Noah Scott, Travis Baumann, Taelin Baumann and Sam Tweedy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Weaver, Tom Barnes, Doug Wattier and Paul Sanders.

Visitation and a parish vigil was Tuesday at the church.

Johnson Funeral Home, Randolph, is in charge of arrangements.

Larry was born June 20, 1952, at Norfolk, to Leo and Loretta (Dendinger) Wattier. He was a 1970 graduate of Saint Jane Frances de Chantal High School, Randolph. After graduation, he worked for Roman Packing Company as a meat cutter in Norfolk for a year. Larry married Deborah Schnoor April 17, 1971, at Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church. He began employment with Wells Blue Bunny Dairy Company, Wayne, and ran a delivery route out of Norfolk for a few years until he was promoted to branch manager and sales representative in Norfolk, he was employed there for about 20 years. The couple moved to Lincoln in May 1999. Larry volunteered his time at Madonna’s Rehabilitation Center, Lincoln.

Larry was a longtime Husker fan, and loved the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. Love for his pets kept him busy walking. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities for many years, and visiting with older people, striking up conversations to hear their stories.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Deb Wattier, Lincoln; three daughters, Stacey and Jim Scott, Randolph; Angie and Travis Baumann, Norfolk; Carrie Tweedy, Clearwater, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Sydney Scott and John Gall, Norfolk; Noah and Ella Scott, Randolph; Anden, Taelin and Atley Baumann, Norfolk; Madilyn, Makenna and Sam Tweedy, Clearwater, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Bodey Gall, Norfolk; four siblings, Jim Wattier, Kansas; Tom and Elaine Wattier, Laurel; Roger and Trudy Wattier, Beatrice; and Barbara Burbach, Randolph;

Preceding him in death include his parents, brother, Bob Wattier; one brother-in-law, Allen Burbach; and two sisters-in-law, Marie Wattier and Arjean Wattier.
