Lady Blue Devils sweep past Osmond in opener

WYNOT - The Wynot Lady Blue Devil volleyball team got the 2024 season off on the right track by sweeping the Osmond Lady Tigers here 25-7, 25-20 and 25-9 in a best-of-five match on Aug. 29.

The Lady Blue Devils got things going in the opening set and never r eally looked back in sweeping the Lewis & Clark Conference foe.

Wynot made some hay at the service line as the Lady Blue Devils rifled 13 ace serves in the match led by Haley Wieseler and Jordan Fox hoven with three each.

Kenna Oligmueller, Jaylin Geisen and Sophie Geisen each had two and Joslyn Hochstein served up one winner.

Oligmueller was the main threat at the net recording nine kills on the night, Eliza Lange added five and Addison Pinkelman tacked on four winners.

Sophie Geisen got the Wynot offense started with 20 set assists, Oligmueller and Jaylin Geisen had 16 and 15 digs respectively.

The Lady Blue Devils were scheduled to travel to Boyd County on Sept . 3 before hosting a four-team tournament on Sept. 5.

Winside comes to Wynot on Sept. 10.
