Kuehn family makes it into the school record books
HARTINGTON — The Kuehn clan made history Monday.
In Monday’s golf meet against Pierce, all five of the starters in the Cedar Catholic line-up were Kuehns.

His cousin, Mack Kuehn, the son of Rick and Stacey Kuehn, has started all year long this season.
Mack’s brothers, freshmen twins Sam and Harrison Kuehn, have played on junior varsity all year long, as has sophomore cousin, Isaac Kuehn, the son of Mark and Denise Kuehn.
Coach Rick Kuehn, said his cousin, Hartington golf course greenskeeper Gary Kuehn, brought the idea to him.
"The Conference meet is over. We're all just getting ready for Districts. This was a good time to do something like this," Coach Kuehn said.
It’s the first time the starters for a Cedar varsity squad have all come from the same family since 1975 when Gary Dunn started all five of the Wieseler brothers in a basketball game here at the old Holy Trinity Gym.
Riley Kuehn, who has led the team all season long, had a little advice for the youngsters before the start of Monday's competition.
"Just have fun today," he said before the match. Don't be nervous. Just go out there and put up a good score."
Mack had similar advice for his brothers and cousin.
"Just don't even think about the fact you're on varsity. Once you start thinking about that, it's like, 'oh gosh, I have to play good.' You just need to play your own game." Mack said his younger brothers are
Mack said his younger brothers are more than capable of playing well on varsity, noting that they both beat him when they all played in a tournament together at Stanton earlier this year.
They both have praise for the youngsters.
"Sam's got a great putt, but Isaac has a little bit more distance," Mack said.
Despite very windy conditions Monday afternoon at the Hartington Golf Course, the starting five fared well, carding a 188 in the nine-hole event. As he has all year long, Riley Kuehn earned medalist honors, firing a 35.
