Krause begins senior season with Husker volleyball team
LINCOLN — A Husker volleyball star with ties to Hartington is set to begin her senior season for the Cornhuskers.
Lindsay Krause, a 6-4 outside hitter, has been a big force for the Huskers during her career.
Injuries kept her out of several games last year, but she has still quite a few impressive games over the course of her career.
Krause, the daughter of 1988 Cedar Catholic graduate Pat Krause, earned Big 10 Player of the Week honors in October of 2023 before she was injured.
She has been a big factor in the team’s success ever since walking on the court in 2021 as a freshman.
Krause was named to the 2021 All Big 10 Freshman Team. She was also named to the NCAA Austin Regional All-Tournament Team after averaging 3.00 kills, 1.14 blocks and 0.86 digs per set. She capped off her season that year with 12 kills, five blocks and six digs against Wisconsin in the NCAA national championship game.
In 2022, she played in 31 matches and averaged 2.26 kills per set with a .271 hitting percentage. She also totaled44 blocks and 45 digs on the season.
She also had a career-high 16 kills with three blocks in a 3-2 win at Creighton that year and tied her career best with 16 kills on .324 hitting in the NCAA regional semifinal against Oregon on Dec. 8
