Kenneth R. Rasmussen
NORFOLK — Funeral services for Kenneth R. Rasmussen, 74, Norfolk, were August 13, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Norfolk. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Plainview. Visitation was Aug.12 at Home for Funerals Chapel, Norfolk. Kenneth died August 10, 2018 at Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk. Kenneth was born Sept. 16, 1943, to Ronald and Veona (Johansen) Rasmussen, in Plainview. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1961. Ken married Marilyn Anderson June 22, 1963, in Plainview. They moved to Norfolk in 1966, so Ken could paint the new St. John’s Lutheran Church. At this time, Ken started Rasmussen Painting and Decorating. Marilyn died March 14, 1999. Ken and Paula Sue (Wattier) Wiborg were married Jan. 6, 2001 in Norfolk. Ken retired from Rasmussen Painting and Decorating in September 2002. He then joined Paula in running Norfolk Hatchery and mini storage until 2014 when he retired. Ken was a Lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Aquanuts Boat and Ski Club (Medelman’s Lake), Norfolk Snow Chasers, Plainview Throttle Twisters and Norfolk Easy Riders Motorcycle Clubs, Norfolk Saddle Club, Norfolk Antique Car Club, and the Nebraska and national Chapters of P.D.C.A. (Painting and Decorating Contractors of America). Ken enjoyed traveling, boating, camping and most of all spending time with his family. Ken is survived by his wife, Paula Sue; two children, Kevin and (Penny Weihs) Rasmussen, Plainview, and Loretta and Jim Keyes, Tea, S.D.; a step son, Jamie and Brenda Gubbels, Lincoln; three grandchildren, Tad and Brooke Pospisil, Tristan Keyes and Rachelle LaMont; four step grandchildren, Brianna Keyes, Derek Keyes, Austin Gubbels and Kaden Gubbels; four extended grandchildren, Tonnya Juhnke, Misty and Devin Watts, Danielle Weihs and Brandon Weihs, and 12 great-grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marilyn; and two sisters, Jeanine Neitzke and Sharon Reichle. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Norfolk, or to the family for later designation
