HNS boys earn L&C Conference title
BLOOMFIELD — The Hartington-Newcastle team bus was loaded down with hardware on their way back from the Rolling Hills Country Club last week.
The Wildcat runners earned a pair of individual conference titles, a team title and a team runner-up trophy during the Lewis and Clark Conference meet here.
The Hartington-Newcastle boys claimed top honors in the Bloomfield Invitational/Lewis & Clark Conference cross country meet, while the HNS girls
earned runner-up honors.
Hartington-Newcastle’s Sara Reifenrath won the 5,000-meter race in 20:42, edging out
Bloomfield-Wausa’s Christina Martington (20:45).
Carson Noecker kept his win streak alive crossing the finish line in (16:53) to earn the conference title. Teammate Brayden Kathol finished as the runner-up.
The Bloomfield-Wausa girls edged Hartington-Newcastle by three points in the Lewis & Clark Conference races. Norfolk Reserves (52) were third overall, with Osmond (51) third in the Lewis & Clark standings.
The HNS boys scored a onepoint victory over Osmond in the L&C and overall races, each by 20 to 21 margins. Plainview was third in both standings.
