Hartington earns State runner-up trophy

HARTINGTON — Hartington Post 4 went toe to toe with two-time defending state champion Malcolm in Wednesday's state title tile game before settling for state runner-up honors as Malcolm broke a 1-1 tie seventh inning tie then went on to earn the 3-1 win. Coach Don Whitmire handed state runner-up medals out to his team after the game as he told then how proud he was of the way they played this season and during the state tournament.
