Harold Philip Hilkermann
RANDOLPH — Harold Philip Hilkemann, 97, Randolph, died Feb. 10, 2018, at Colonial Manor, Randolph. Visitation was Tuesday at United Methodist Church from 4-7 p.m. under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, Randolph. Funeral services will be Feb. 14 at United Methodist Church, Randolph, with Rev. Judy Carlson officiating. Interment will be Randolph Cemetery, Randolph. Pallbearers will be Curtis Hilkemann, Corey Hilkemann, Brett Hilkemann, Zach Dahlgren, Kim Pentico, Amy Schell and Jessica Schafer. Harold was born April 16, 1920, at Randolph, to Gustav and Louise (Pieper) Hilkemann. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1937. Following high school, he farmed on the Hilkemann family farm. He married Mildred Manzer Sept. 8, 1943, at the United Methodist Church, Pierce. The couple farmed on the Hilkemann family farm in Pierce County for two years, until moving to their own farm near McLean. They continued farming near McLean until 2000, when the couple moved to Randolph. Harold sold crop/hail insurance for many years for Mid Continent Insurance Company. He was a member of United Methodist Church, Randolph, and was recently recognized for 80 years of membership; and past president of Pierce County Farm Bureau. Harold enjoyed playing cards; working as a handyman for area people; doing carpentry and painting; traveling and touring; and being around family and friends. Survivors include his three children, Karen Voorhees, Topeka, Kan.; Janet Hilkemann, Omaha; Kevin and Margie Hilkemann, Salina, Kan.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one step grandchild; five step great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law. Harold is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Mildred, who died in March 2011; his infant twins; three brothers and two sisters.
