Globe Chophouse will be closing its doors
HARTINGTON — The Globe Chophouse will be shutting down this week, but owner Katelyn Gapinski is hoping the restaurant will soon be able to reopen with a renewed purpose.
The restaurant opened in May 2021 to rave reviews.
Keeping the facility up and running it has been a challenge, though, Gapinski said on her Facebook page announcing the closure.
“The last few months have been a struggle. The economy is tanking, food costs are through the roof, help is hard to find. Our dining room sits empty many days, but our overhead costs don’t change,” she wrote. “Therefore, it’s with a heavy heart I announce that next Saturday, Oct. 15, we will be closing our doors.”
She said she is hoping this is just a temporary closure, but can’t say for sure what will happen next.
“We hope this closure is temporary. We need to restructure, figure out what will better serve the community. We want to be here,” she wrote. “This is our dream, and it’s a devastating blow, but the responsible decision. We may be booking events in the near future, and are hopeful for our catering business. I sunk my heart into these four walls, and I will continue to figure out how to possibly reopen, stronger.”
Gapinski said she appreciated all of the support from her loyal customers.
“Finally, thank you to our patrons. It’s been the biggest pleasure to serve you. Your support has meant the world to us. We promise we will do everything in our power to come back,” she wrote. “Hopefully sooner rather than later.”
