Donovan “Don” Kressig was born Dec. 5, 1934, on the family farm near Hartington. He attended country school and graduated from Cedar Catholic High School, Hartington. After high school, Don continued to work on the family farm. In 1993, he married the love of his life, Lorraine Sedlacek in Tabor, S.D. They shared 30 wonderful years together.
Don was a quiet, humble man. He devoted his life to faith, family and farming. He took great pride in tending his land and found peace in working his fruit groves and gardens. Don loved his dogs, Skipper being his most beloved. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren beyond measure and was adored by them all. He was an avid reader and found westerns and murder mysteries to be his favorite. Don could always be found reading his daily newspaper and watching the never-ending Fox News channel. He was a devout Catholic who made time for the Rosary each day. He was an intelligent man who enjoyed discussing politics, watching western movies and square dancing with Loraine.
Don deeply loved his aunt, Flora Hassman.
