Donald M. Jacobsen
HARTINGTON — Donald Morris Jacobsen, 87, Hartington, died March 23, 2022, at the Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, April 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, with Pastor Amanda Talley officiating.
Burial will be in the Hartington City Cemetery in Hartington.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the church Friday.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Donald Morris Jacobsen was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Randolph, to Jens and Ingeborg (Bach) Jacobsen. Don worked on the family farm for several years. He then worked on a wheat harvest crew based out of Garden City, Kan., traveling from Oklahoma to near the Canada border in 1958 and 1959. He later worked on a farm near Wisner. Don worked for many years at Urwiler Implement, Laurel, and later the Case-International dealership, Wayne, where he was the combine and corn-planter setup technician. He loved his work and was proud of what he did.
He married Vicki Stratton Oct. 17, 1980, and became a father to her son, Jeffrey.
Don was an avid bowler and accumulated quite a collection of trophies. The couple settled in Wayne, Nebraska. After Vickie’s death, Don married Oma Pfund Sept. 11, 2004. They resided in Hartington where they were members of Trinity Lutheran Church. They loved playing cards, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.
Don is survived by his step son, Jeffrey (Chameen) Stratton, Broomfield, Colo.; step daughters, Debra (Chuck) Przelomiec, Oak Park, Calif., and Joan (Bruce) Brodersen, Lincoln; step-sons, Steven Vargas, Colo., and Robert (Corrine) Pfund, Billings, Mont.; brothers, Morris Jacobsen, Laurel, and Mike (Cathie) Jacobsen, Sioux City, Iowa; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vicki; wife, Oma; siblings, Chris, Ruby, Dick, Duaine, Harvey, Jim, Shirley, Ray, Leonard and twins Judy and Julia.
