Denton G. Hyatt
NORFOLK — Funeral services for Denton G. Hyatt, 87, Norfolk, were June 13 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Norfolk, with Mark Hyatt officiating.
Interment was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk.
Visitation began one hour prior to the services at Stonacek Funeral Chapel. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 16, V.F.W. Post 1644 of Norfolk and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
Denton died June 10, 2018, at the Community Pride Care Center, Battle Creek.
Denton G. Hyatt was born June 3, 1931, in Randolph, to Glenn and Verle (Heiderman) Hyatt. He attended grade school at Randolph Public Schools and graduated from Randolph High School in 1949. He married Genevieve Dowling June 15, 1958, at the First United Methodist Church, Randolph. Denton was in the United States Army from May 12, 1952-April 13, 1954. After serving in the United States Army, Denton went on to work for the Nebraska Department of Roads. He worked there for 40 years until he retired.
Denton enjoyed deer hunting and watching football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He is survived by his spouse of 59 years, Genevieve Hyatt; son, Mark (Cheryl) Hyatt; daughter, Michelle (David) Bode; sister, Darlene Duffy; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two half-sisters and one half-brother.
Casket bearers were Dustin Bode, Matthew Bode, Jayd Hyatt, Seth Hyatt, Fernando Gil and Elijah Gil.
