Darlene Faye Aaberg
STANTON — Darlene Faye Aaberg, 89, Stanton, died Oct. 31, 2018, at Stanton Health Center, Stanton. Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Nov. 8, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stanton, under the direction of Shultz- Vogel-Johnson Mortuary, Stanton. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Nov. 9, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Jason Schulz officiating. Interment will be in Stanton Cemetery, Stanton. Pallbearers are Dexter Kolb, Andrew Frey, Rick Lienemann, Randy Lienemann and David Lienemann. Darlene was born Oct. 28, 1929, at Osmond, to William and Emma (Krueger) Lienemann. She was a 1947 graduate of McLean High School, McLean. After graduating, Darlene worked as babysitter for area families near Randolph. Darlene married Keith Richard Aaberg June 12, 1955, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Randolph. The couple made their home near Stanton, where they farmed and raised a family. Darlene was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stanton, and St. John’s Ladies Aid. In June 2005, Darlene and Keith celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary. Her hobbies included cooking, baking and needlepoint. Survivors include her three children, Kurt and Nancy Aaberg, Stanton; Alan and Susan Aaberg, Stanton; and Tracy Aaberg, Valentine; four grandchildren, Kim and Andrew Frey, Appleton, Wis.; Jennifer Aaberg, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Michelle and Dexter Kolb, Pierre, S.D.; and Justin Aaberg, Nebraska City; five greatgrandchildren Noah Frey, Micah Frey and Cecelia Frey, Appleton, Wis.; and Cash Kolb and Crew Kolb Pierre, S.D.; a sister-in-law, JoAnna Alasky, The Villages, Fla. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith, Nov. 25, 2006; and two brothers and their wives, Marvin and Ann Lienemann and Vernon and Vernelda Lienemann.
