Coleridge Legion, Auxiliary host March meetings
COLERIDGE — The American Legion Post #114 and its Auxiliary Unit #114 held their monthly meeting March 4 at the Coleridge Community Building. The units jointly recited the Pledge of Allegiance and then separated and held their monthly meetings.
Auxiliary Chaplin Dolores Meier gave a reading and a prayer followed by a moment of silence in memory of our departed. President Vicky Gullicksen called the meeting to order. Secretary Brenda Lage called the role with nine members responding. She also read the minutes of the last meeting and they were approved as read. Treasurer Diane Wemhoff gave the Treasurer’s report for the month of February and her report was accepted as read. The motion was made by D. Meier and seconded by M. Storm to pay bills as presented.
President V. Gullicksen updated the Auxiliary on upcoming events, Bingo at Veterans Home in Norfolk on March 8; District Convention in Lyons March 9; application for Girl’s State was sent in; essays are being reviewed and deadline is March 15. Membership for 2025 was discussed, and volunteer hours to be completed. President V. Gullicksen also brought up April 14 American Legion Pancake Feed in Coleridge. More discussion will be held at April’s meeting. Discussion was held on Veteran’s Home needs. D. Wemhoff will be picking up supplies and visiting with members on assisting with donations. A thank you to all for bringing snacks for Veteran’s Bingo.
The next meeting will be April 1. The meeting was adjourned.
