City starts to look at budget
RANDOLPH – Randolph City Council members met for its first budget workshop last week.
Representatives from boards and departments made pitches for funding requests including the Randolph Community Golf Course, the Lied Randolph Public Library, Randolph Rescue, the Randolph Volunteer Fire Department, Park Board, Randolph Summer Youth, the police department, and Public Works department.
The council also briefly reviewed its debt service including flood control loan payments, the status of city-owned equipment and facilities.
Michael Hoback from AMGL, Grand Island, the city’s auditing firm, attended the budget workshop. Councilwoman Janelle Biernbaum was absent.
The workshop lasted for two hours before the council entered executive session. No action was taken.
