Charles J. Schulte
EMERSON — Charles J. Schulte, 87, Emerson, died June 23, 2021, at his home in Emerson.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was June 28 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emerson, with Father Gerald Leise as Celebrant. Memorial visitation and a wake service were June 27 at the church.
Inurnment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Emerson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home, Emerson.
Charlie was born June 6, 1934, in Hartington, to Anton J. and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Schulte. He was baptized June 10, 1934, and confirmed into the Catholic faith May 15, 1946, in Bow Valley. He attended and graduated from Hartington Holy Trinity High School in 1952. In October 1956, Charlie entered the United States Army. He married Genevieve Delores Becker Aug. 26, 1957, in St. Helena. The couple had six wonderful children.
Charlie worked for several years as a Millwright. He worked on several projects during his career including the Gavin’s Point Dam, Brownsville Nuclear Power Station, Minuteman Missile Silos and many power plants. Following his retirement he purchased a bar in Emerson, and named it “C&G’s” Bar. Quite a few years later, they sold the bar, and he began selling feed supplements with Tri-Ag Sales.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Genevieve Schulte, Emerson; sons, Michael (Kristi) Schulte, Omaha; Mark (Maureen) Schulte, Omaha; Mitchell Schulte, Emerson; daughters, Michelle (Gary) Waggoner, North Platte; Michaela (Gary) Libbos, Phoenix, Ariz.; Marla (Randy) Plueger of Hinton, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lorraine Schulte, Hartington; and a brother-in-law, Linus Lange, Bow Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lucille (Dwight) Keller, Mary Ann (Jim) Hans, Mildred (Jerome) Becker and June Lange; brothers, Hubert “Toby” (Marcie) Schulte, Harold (Rainaldes) Schulte, Leo Schulte, Marvin Schulte, Roger (Carla) Schulte and Marty (Phyllis) Schulte.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
