Chamber prepares to throw a community party
HARTINGTON — Hartington Chamber of Commerce members are planning quite the party for Aug. 13.
Hartington Chamber of Commerce President Karen Flamig said the finishing touches are coming together for the new community event — Hartington Dayz.
Several activities — including a golf tournament, sidewalk sales, a vendor market and farmers' market, community-wide garage sales, family and children's games and a street dance — are already planned for the day.
The street dance will feature Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Quazy. The Hartington-based band always draws a big crowd, wherever they play.
The street dance is expected to be one of the largest ever held here as all five downtown bars have acquired special designated liquor licenses to serve alcohol on the streets that night.
The Hartington Dayz four-person golf scramble will take place that day at a cost of $80 per team. The Chamber is still accepting flag prize donations for individual holes.
